Protection for Our Haitian Neighbors

Despite continued dire circumstances in Haiti, our current administration determined that Haiti no longer meets the conditions for designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). And so, as of Monday, July 27, 2026, TPS for our Haitian neighbors has ended.

This leaves roughly 350,000 individuals from Haiti now ineligible to work lawfully and vulnerable to deportation. These neighbors migrated here through a legal pathway, and yet are facing cruel changes and uncertainties in the U.S. even as their home country faces a severe humanitarian crisis.

Together, we can use our voices to make a collective impact for hundreds of thousands of Haitians who had legally found safety in the U.S. Congress as a co-equal branch of government has the power to act to extend protections for Haitians, and the House has already passed a bipartisan bill, H.R. 1689 to extend TPS for Haitians for three years. Now it is the Senate’s turn to act.

Your advocacy can spur on their action! Here are two action steps you can take today:

• Sign and share this letter from World Relief to join a host of other leaders and Christians asking for solutions for this community of image-bearers. 

• Call your Senators and specifically ask for Republican Senators to work across the aisle to pass the Haiti TPS Bill (SB 4814).

  • Your voice and ability to actively press for the passing of this Senate Bill will be the most strategic and valuable help in the weeks ahead especially if you live in these states: NC, TX, LA, ME, AK, OH, PA, IN, FL, UT.
