Latest Advocacy Needs

There are several ways you can take action now to support immigrants and refugees. Check out the advocacy opportunities below to see how you can participate and stay engaged with what is happening.

Sustain the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to set a fiscal year 2026 ceiling for refugee admissions of 7,500, the lowest level in U.S. history, while worldwide there is a record number of people fleeing persecution.

Under the authority of the Refugee Act of 1980, the president, each fiscal year, has the authority and responsibility to set a refugee ceiling — the maximum number of refugees who could be admitted — after consulting with congressional leaders.

Advocate for a higher 50,000 refugee ceiling today!

Protect Vulnerable People and Families

For decades the US government has supported legal safeguards in accordance with anti-trafficking policies & laws. These protections help ensure migrant kids are not mistreated or returned to trafficking, exploitation, or separated from their families.

Pass Immigration Reform

One thing most Americans agree on: our immigration system is broken and outdated.

We are called, as Christians, to practice hospitality. This does not mean we are advocates for illegal immigration or open border policies. We seek to advocate for the humane treatment of those coming to our country while amending our immigration policies to create more effective and safe ways for immigration to the U.S.

We believe in safe and secure borders, thorough vetting, and the dignified treatment of these vulnerable populations.

We are asking Congress to pass legislative solutions on immigration that uphold human dignity and support the interests of the American people. Our nation’s immigration laws should:

  1. Respect the rule of law (including the right to claim asylum)

  2. Protect the unity of the immediate family.

  3. Commit to safety and security on the border and in our communities.

  4. Show compassion to immigrants by allowing them an opportunity to earn lawful status and citizenship.

  5. Provide migrants the opportunity to lawfully contribute to our economy.

Tell your Representatives in Congress that you want to see meaningful immigration reform that allows for secure borders AND the compassionate treatment of immigrants.

Support Afghan Evacuees

So many of us were moved to compassion and action when we watched the US withdrawal from Afghanistan happen in August 2021. Our inboxes were flooded with women asking how they could help and step up to advocate and welcome new neighbors. In the years since the withdrawal, over 70,000 Afghans have been evacuated to the United States.

The good news is that for years those evacuees had safe, temporary protection here in the United States. However, many of those protections have come to an end, and many of them don’t have any access to permanent legal status. Join us in advocating for an Afghan Adjustment Act to ensure a pathway to permanent, legal status.

Unmute Yourself, Support Dreamers

The overwhelming majority of evangelical Christians—along with most Americans overall, including majorities of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents—want Congress to provide permanent protections for “Dreamers,” young immigrants brought as children to the U.S.

The only way for Dreamers to ultimately have stability is for Congress to pass a permanent legislative solution. In February 2023, the bipartisan Dream Act of 2023 was introduced into the Senate, in fact over 20 versions of the Dreamers act have been introduced since 2001. Our elected officials are much more likely to finally pass this solution if they are convinced that their constituents see it as a priority.

Ask your Members of Congress today to stand up for Dreamers, passing legislation that would allow immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to receive permanent protections to live and work here without fears of deportation.
