Proximity Events: Faith, Learning, and Action in Community
Women of Welcome Proximity Events create spaces where faith meets action—inviting women to learn together, advocate together, and choose welcome together.
In 2025, Women of Welcome hosted five Proximity Events across the United States, inviting women into meaningful spaces of learning, relationship, and faith-rooted action. From local churches to Capitol Hill, these gatherings helped women better understand immigration, listen to powerful personal stories, and take practical steps toward welcoming their immigrant neighbors.
Across five cities, 180 women participated in Immigration 101 teaching, pastoral conversations, migrant and refugee testimonies, and advocacy experiences designed to make civic engagement accessible and grounded in faith.
Participants consistently shared that Proximity Events helped them feel more confident engaging immigration conversations, more connected to others who care deeply about welcome, and more hopeful about the role they can play in their churches and communities.
Whether through local service opportunities or meetings with elected leaders, women left these events encouraged and equipped to live out welcome with clarity, compassion, and courage.
